OPP officer charged after investigation into Gravenhurst collision

GRAVENHURST, ON- A member of the OPP has been charged after a collision in Gravenhurst this past August.

The collision took place between a marked OPP vehicle and a 10 year old boy biking along the sidewalk on August 8th, in the community’s downtown.

The northbound OPP vehicle was turning off Muskoka Road North into a commercial parking lot when the cyclist was struck.

As a result of the investigation, a 10-year member of the OPP has been charged with Turn – not in safety as per section 142(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

At the time of the incident, the boy was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

He was released the same day.
