BRACEBRIDGE, ON- Heavy trucks will not be allowed on High Falls Road next month.
According to the District of Muskoka, the district and the Town of Bracebridge have established winter heavy truck restrictions for High Falls Road starting November 1st to April 1st.
“In the last two years, there were nearly 30 truck incidents on High Falls Road,” read the announcement from the district.
“These incidents required tow-trucks and road/lane closures to accommodate recovery efforts on this road alone. Snow and slush accumulates quickly, and even with regular plowing and sanding, heavy trucks simply cannot negotiate the steeply graded portions in the winter months.”
Trucks with two or more axles are prohibited from using the route throughout the closure.
Signs are now at the intersection to let people know about the change.
