PARRY SOUND, ON- A major attraction in the Parry Sound area is closed down for the season.
Killbear Provincial Park, which sits to the west of Parry Sound on Georgian Bay, have announced their annual winter closure.
The notice went out from the park’s Twitter account, which carried the following message:
The Park is officially closed today. This account will be monitored monthly. Please call the park if you have an urgent inquiry or need information for winter Day Use. We hope everyone had a great time at Killbear and cannot wait to see you again next summer!
According to Georgina Arnott, the director of operations for the Friends of Killbear, the park is completely closed for camping, and there are very few areas accessible to the public outside of the closed gates.
There are still park employees doing maintenance this week, but full recreational use will be back up and running by next May.
