East York man killed by train in Port Stanton

SEVERN BRIDGE, ON – A man has died after being hit by a train in Port Stanton near Severn Bridge.

CN and the Ontario Provincial Police confirm that a 55-year-old East York man received fatal injuries Saturday night as he walked on or near the tracks near the Port Stanton Parkway by the Bayview Wildwood Resort.

“Late Saturday night, CN crews responded to an incident involving a CN train and a pedestrian near Port Stanton. Our thoughts are with the individual affected by this incident and their family,” read a CN news release.

The incident happened around 11:00pm. The man’s name has not been released.
