Driver fails to remain after striking motorcyclist on Highway 118

ALGONQUIN HIGHLANDS, ON- Police are looking for a driver who fled a hit and run this evening.

According to the Haliburton Highlands OPP detachment, the incident took place around 5:30 p.m. along Highway 118, just east of Carnarvon.

A westbound motorcycle was struck by an eastbound car that crossed the centre line.

The motorcyclist was hit in the hand with the mirror of the car.

The eastbound car failed to remain at the scene of the collision. The motorcyclist was treated at an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are looking for assistance from the public in identifying the driver responsible. The suspect vehicle is a dark coloured Dodge or Chrysler model with damage to the driver’s mirror.
