Perry Township man headed to court in September in Emsdale death case

EMSDALE, ON- Thomas Stevens has a court date in Sunridge next month.

Stevens, a 26 year old man from Perry Township, was charged following the death of Heidi Lynn Slessor, a 34 year old woman from Armour Township.

According to a news release from the OPP, members of the Almaguin Highlands detachment responded to an address in Perry Township on the night of July 15th, shortly after 8:40 p.m. along with paramedics and firefighters.

That address is was around 625 Deer Lake Road.

Emergency services had come because a woman had been struck by a car in the area. Slessor was pronounced dead at the scene.

Stevens was later charged with operation causing death and failing to provide a breath sample.

His case has been moving through the court system since the charges were laid. His next court date is September 26th in Sunridge court.

The court system has indicated that Stevens has a lawyer.
