OPP confirm second death after Lake Joseph boat crash

MUSKOKA LAKES, ON- A second person has died after a boat crash on Lake Joseph on Saturday.

The crash occurred near Emerald Island in Seguin Township around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night. One man, a 64 year old from Florida, was killed at the time of the crash.

A 48-year-old woman from Markham also sustained critical injuries, and was taken to hospital.

Police have now confirmed the woman has passed away due to her injuries. A media release with the identities of the deceased is expected later today.

It has also been confirmed that one of the two vessels involved in the crash was owned by well-known Shark Tank judge Kevin O’Leary, who was a passenger on the smaller boat at the time. O’Leary has said his wife was at the wheel at the time of the crash, and later passed a DUI test.

No criminal charges have been filed in the case as of this report.
