Bracebridge OPP nab pair of drunk drivers over weekend

BRACEBRIDGE, ON – A pair of drivers have had their cars impounded and licenses suspended for 90 days.

This past Friday Bracebridge OPP set up a RIDE check near downtown. Within minutes police began a drunk driving investigation. In that case, a 64-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with impaired driving. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 17th.

On Saturday night police were on general patrol in Gravenhurst when a driver’s behaviour led to a stop on Bethune Drive. A 31-year-old Bracebridge woman was charged with impaired operation and being over the limit. She is due in Bracebridge court on September 24th.

Police encourage the public to report possible drunk driving by contacting the local detachment and providing as many details as possible including make, model and license plate and direction of travel.
