GRAVENHURST, ON- Repair work at the Muskoka Wharf will be closing off part of the structure next week.
According to the Town of Gravenhurst, piles on the Dock B landing will be taking place next Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Throughout the work, the dock will be closed to both pedestrian and boat traffic as concrete is poured.
The pile repair involves embedding steel piping into the ground and filling them with concreate, and is meant to provide stability and reinforcement.
Back in June, the town and Tatham Engineering had assessed the conditions of the docks, and found more corrosion than they had expected on the I-beam piles for Dock B. Galcon Marina will be carrying out the repair work.
The work will start on Tuesday and should be finished by Thursday, and the site will remain open until Wednesday.
