BRACEBRIDGE, ON- If you had property damaged by flooding this spring, get your application in for help.

That’s the word from Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norm Miller, who issued a reminder this week for residents throughout Muskoka to apply for deadlines in August and September.

The provincial government had activated the Disaster Recovery Assistance program for Bracebridge and Huntsville and the Township of Muskoka Lakes after flooding that began on April 19, 2019.

The deadline to submit an application to this program for these residents is August 29, 2019.

The program is meant to help victims of natural disasters to get back on their feet.

Eligible residents can apply for help with costs including emergency expenses, clean-up costs and repairs to or replacement of essential property at a primary residence.

More information about what is covered and an application form can be found at www.ontario.ca/disasterassistance.

Applications should include documentation establishing your primary address, a letter from your insurance provider and receipts or invoices for costs incurred or estimates for future costs.

For more information on the application process, residents can call 1-844-780-8925 or email [email protected].
