Franklin Park dock use restricted due to spring damage

GRAVENHURST, ON- Users of the Franklin Park dock on Sparrow Lake will have some restrictions for the rest of the summer.

Due to damages sustained by the launch in the winter ice-out and spring flooding, the main connection points for the docks have been compromised and are no longer considered structurally sound.

This means that the usual amount of five docks has been reduced down to two.

The Town of Gravenhurst has retained GSS Engineering, a consulting engineering firm, to put together a solution to address the issue.

As an interim measure, two floating docks have been put in place to help alleviate any inconvenience to members of the public.

There is no impact to the boat launch on Sparrow Lake.
