New traffic plan in place for Muskoka Arts and Crafts

BRACEBRIDGE, ON – There is a new traffic plan for the 57th annual Muskoka Arts and Crafts Summer Show.

The popular event has not happened without its challenges. Increased traffic to Annie Williams Memorial Park is requiring a new approach say town officials.

The traffic management plan will help ease congestion on Wellington Street, Santa’s Village Road and the surrounding area.

The Summer Show features 200 creative artists from across Canada. Approximately 20,000 people visit each year to meet the makers and see their work.

Starting tomorrow morning at 10:00am until 6:00pm daily Santa’s Village Road will be closed from Spencer Street to Wellington Street.

People attending the show or going elsewhere on Santa’s Village Road will be directed to the intersection of Dill Street and Wellington Street. A detour will take vehicles west along Dill Street, south to on Ewing Street and then on to Santa’s Village Road.

People leaving the show or the Santa’s Village Road area will be diverted north on Spencer Street, east on Dill Street and then south on Ewing Street, ending up on Santa’s Village Road.

No parking regulations will be in place for either side of Ewing and Spencer Streets.

Muskoka Arts and Crafts have confirmed additional parking at the Pentecostal Church, Georgian College, the Rotary Centre, and Dewey Institute. Town staff is encouraging you to use these parking lots, and when possible,  walk to the park.
