Prenatal classes available online for expecting parents in Muskoka

MUSKOKA, ON – Any future parents looking for prenatal classes are in luck as the local health unit is offering them for free.

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is registering for in-person and online sessions. The goal is to make courses as convenient as possible for anyone who wants to take them.

Information on labour and birth, comfort measures, medical procedures, after the baby comes, breastfeeding and more are provided in both online and in-person classes.

The face-to-face option, however, offers opportunities to meet other pregnant women and their families to talk about pregnancy, birth, and newborns. Anyone who attends can also get answers to questions and concerns from a public health nurse.

Those who opt for the Online class can specifically choose the information that interests them the most. It also allows the student to learn at their own pace and when most comfortable.

Anyone interested can register online on the SMDHU’s website. The in-person classes are offered locally in Bracebridge and Huntsville.
