Information sent to the MyParrySoundNow.com newsroom indicated that the ambulance ended up off the side of the road, near Dumont Road towards Pointe Au Baril. A woman was also seen being frisked by police at the scene, though it remains unclear what her involvement was.

Police have confirmed that the woman is the only suspect in the incident and charges against her are still pending.

Her place of residence, name, and motive for allegedly taking the ambulance has not yet been released by police as of this publication.

The OPP have also confirmed that a collision took place between the ambulance and another vehicle at the intersection of Miller Street and Seguin Street in downtown Parry Sound, after which the driver of the ambulance “took off” from the scene.

After that happened, police became aware that the ambulance had been stolen.

According to the centre, no one suffered significant injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
