HUNTSVILLE, ON – People driving along Highway 60 may have noticed signs asking them to look up.
There are dozens of them and they are in place ahead of highway construction that will see a 14 kilometre stretch between Hidden Valley Road and Highway 35 getting redone.
According to the company that has been awarded the contract, Tomlinson Group of Ottawa, the signs are a new mandate in the construction industry to remind heavy equipment operators to be mindful of overhead wires.
The signs are on either side of any wires that cross over the roadway.
A spokesperson for the company said, “We just want to remind our operators of dump trucks for example that they need to watch that their box isn’t up.”
Work on the highway should be starting this week.
