Gravenhurst, ON – Those who put a lot of time and effort into making outdoor areas more aesthetically pleasing will be recognized.
The Gravenhurst Daisy Awards are back for 2019 and the town is looking for nominations. The award is meant to recognize residents, businesses and groups with beautiful front yard gardens or landscapes.
In a release, town officials commended those who make their neighbourhoods more attractive.
“Not only are the awards meant to recognize property owners for their efforts, but they are also meant to encourage other residents and businesses to upgrade and beautify their property,” The town said in the release.
The public is encouraged to nominate gardens or landscapes in town. They should be visible from the road and add a sense of pride to living in Gravenhurst to those who see them.
Nominations can be made on the town’s website or physical copies can be picked up at the Gravenhurst Town Office. Deadline for submissions is July 10th.
The winners will be announced during Music on the Barge at Gull Lake Rotary Park on August 11th. Volunteers from the Gravenhurst Horticulture Society will be judging the competition.
Winning properties, along with photos, will also be posted on the Town website and Facebook page.
