Muskoka Wharf docks getting assessed tomorrow

GRAVENHURST, ON- The Muskoka Wharf docks will be getting a once-over tomorrow.

According to a notice from the Town of Gravenhurst, the docks are getting looked at as part of a program to monitor municipal infrastructure.

While the docks have been getting regular maintenance since they were first installed in 2005, the town wants to make sure the useful life of their assets is being maintained.

Tatham Engineering has been chosen to do the work. On-site inspections will start tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. and should be completed by 7:00 p.m. The total cost is $14,859, after a total of $35,000 had been put aside for the project.

All of the above water and below water components of the docks are being looked at, including the docking surface, cleats, lighting, alignment, floats, anchors, and chains.

The public should exercise caution when travelling around the docks, as both foot and boat traffic may be affected. The docks will be open during the inspections, but people should be aware of the workers doing the review.
