Three Huntsville residents charged after pair of cocaine busts

HUNTSVILLE, ON- Two men and one woman were charged with cocaine possession over the weekend in Huntsville.

According to a release from the Huntsville OPP, the first arrests took place on Saturday evening. At 10:00 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle on Main Street West for a routine traffic stop. During the stop, it was found that the group inside the car were in possession of cocaine.

A 48 year old woman and 37 year old man, both from Huntsville, were charged with possession of a controlled substance. They’ll be appearing at the Huntsville courthouse on July 7th.

The second arrest came from a traffic complaint the following evening. At 5:30 p.m., an officer stopped a pickup truck in town. Investigation led to the arrest of a 39 year old man from Huntsville for possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking.

He is also facing a charge of possession of proceeds of crime and operating a motor vehicle while prohibited. He has a bail hearing today.

“Any drug activity in Huntsville is always a concern within the community,” said the police, in the release.

“Huntsville OPP will continue in its attempt to keeping our community safe.”

The names of the three people arrested were not released by police.
