Those eligible for disaster relief funding expanded in Muskoka

More people in Muskoka affected by flooding will have access to financial relief.

The province announced it expanded the area for its Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians program. The area now includes the Township of Muskoka Lakes. Bracebridge and Huntsville were already on the list as of May 3.

The provincial government said it identified more properties around the District of Muskoka that were damaged and could be eligible for assistance.

The program is for the basic contents in residences, farms, small businesses and not-for-profit organizations. It provides money for repairs to essential properties that aren’t covered under insurance after a disaster.
