Huntsville updates residents on flood recovery help

On May 7 Huntsville Town Council met at a special council meeting to discuss the 2019 flood event, recovery efforts and resources available to residents. If you were impacted by the flood, please consider the following recovery resources available:

Landfill Voucher:
If you reside or operate a business in an affected flood area, you are eligible for a landfill voucher to dispose of flood-related debris. The Town will issue one landfill voucher per residence or business for the disposal at a designated Transfer Station. The voucher is valid to dispose of up to one (1) half-ton and single-axel trailer load (or equivalent) of flood-related debris. The vouchers will be available for pick-up, with proof of Huntsville address starting on Thursday, May 9 at two locations: Town Hall, 37 Main Street East, Huntsville ON on the third floor and the Canada Summit Centre, 20 Park Drive, Huntsville ON.

Sandbag Disposal:
To assist Huntsville residents with sandbag disposal, a temporary sandbag drop-off is available daily at Madill Yard (169 Madill Church Road).
