Crews in Gravenhurst are getting ready to start cleaning up the streets and they are asking the public for help.
Officials with the town said the goal is to get all the sand and debris off the roads and sidewalks left over from the Winter. They added residents can help by making sure their cars aren’t hanging over onto the road or sidewalk, basketball and hockey nets are put away along with garbage and recycling bins.
Administration also advised against parking on the roads and piling sand on the roads because street sweepers won’t be able to properly collect it. Public Works crews aren’t responsible for private roadways.
Street sweeping will begin this week and is estimated to take six to eight weeks to complete.
