Two Bracebridge parking lots closed for movie

Finding parking in downtown Bracebridge may be a little tighter than usual starting tomorrow.

Both the Hiram Street and Granary Parking lots will be closed. They’re reserved for the film production company that’ll be in town making a Christmas movie for Netflix.

Called The Knight Before Christmas and starring Vanessa Hudgens and Josh Whitehouse, it’s a romance that involves a time-travelling English knight from the past who unexpectedly finds his way to the present, and of course, falls in love.

The Knight Before Christmas is being filmed almost entirely in Bracebridge with the exception of a couple of days in Ireland. The film production company provides an enormous boost to the local economy during what is typically a very soft time of year,” said Mayor Graydon Smith.

He went on to add that, “While we recognize that this parking restriction may cause some frustrations in the Downtown, we ask that people consider alternate travel and parking arrangements for the short period the filming is taking place.”

The Hiram Street and the Granary Parking lots will be shut down until May 16th. The Woodchester Parking Lot is available as an alternate all day parking location. You can see a map of the municipal parking lots at the town’s website.
