MAHC announces new chief of staff

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare has appointed a new chief of staff.

Dr. Khaled Abdel-Razek will take over the role on June 3rd. Board Chair, Phil Mathews, called Abdel-Razek a respected clinician, surgeon and physician leader.

“We are delighted to welcome him to the Senior Leadership Team at MAHC and look forward to his energy, optimism, effective communication and passion for teamwork,” Mathews said. 

The doctor has been practising as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for the last 14 years. Abdel-Razek will be part of Harvard Medical School’s class of 2020.

The new chief of staff said he is happy to take on the position and will do his best.

“My admiration of MAHC is no secret to all those who know me and work with me,” Abdel-Razek said. “The experience I have had as a care provider at MAHC and the experience of my Muskoka and area patients has always been extremely positive. So it is only natural that I am excited and proud to join MAHC’s leadership and work more closely with everyone at MAHC.”

The doctor will join the Administration team and be accountable to the Board of Directors. The chief of staff provides leads the medical staff to ensure quality care to all patients.
