Event being held to recognize Ontario Trillium Foundation grant

Friends of the Muskoka Watershed is celebrating a $773,000 grant with a recognition event.

A range of politicians and a representative from the Ontario Trillium Foundation will be participating in the event tomorrow at Brookland Farms to discuss the wood ash recycling program and how the money from the OTF will be used.

Parry Sound Muskoka MPP Norm Miller, District Chair John Klinck and Muskoka Lakes Township Mayor Phil Harding will all be on hand to discuss benefits of the program and how the OTF has made a difference to Muskoka.   Patricia Arney, an OTF Representative will also make some remarks on the importance of the grant.

The Wood Ash recycling program is designed to collect fireplace ash from residents and have it scattered at participating maple farms to help reverse a drop in calcium levels.
