If you have ever gotten off the highway at Bracebridge to get some gas, the long trek is over.
Until this week the closest gas station could be found on Monck Road – 118 West, at least a ten-minute drive from Highway 11.
Now, with the new Shell Station open at Cedar Lane South, the drive will be less than two minutes. And it gives people on the east side of town a quicker option to fuel up.
Owner Sandip Patel said they opened pretty much on time and he has had nothing but positive feedback.
“People are so happy it is open now,” he admits. “Every day someone is telling me about how they hate having to drive across town to get gas.”
A car wash will be opening in the coming days and there is also a convenience store that will soon feature a lottery kiosk.
