Parry Sound-Muskoka dimming the lights for Earth Hour
It’s Earth Hour this weekend and towns around Muskoka are participating.
It takes place Saturday night starting at 8:30pm. Huntsville and Bracebridge will be turning off non-essential lights and office equipment at their facilities.
Parry Sound’s offices are closed on Saturday night, but the staff is being encouraged to participate at home.
Earth Hour started in Sydney, Australia in 2007.
Thousands of communities around the world will be participating.
The intent of Earth Hour is to get people thinking about their reliance on electricity and how they can change their habits and reduce power consumption.
