Gravenhurst returning to ice blading operations

With a frequent thaw/freeze cycle area roads in Gravenhurst are getting rough again.

As a result, the works department will be doing ice-blading operations this week.

According to works officials, “This is a proactive measure that will speed up the melting process, and assist in improving the ride quality for vehicular traffic.”

Ice blading operations will take place in the following areas. Other roads may be added depending on how quickly operations go and what temperatures are during the week.

  • MR # 20 (from Housey Rapids Rd. to Barkway Rd.)
  • MR # 6 (from Victoria Falls Rd. to McCarther Sdrd.)
  • MR # 19
  • MR # 13
  • MR #17 (from Taboo to Ennis Bay Rd.)
  • Fernwood & Pratt Subdivision
  • Winhara Rd.
  • Industrial Dr. & Progress Rd.
  • Jones Rd.

Residents are reminded that winter parking rules are still in effect, meaning no parking of vehicles on public roads overnight. Leaving your car out overnight could lead to it being towed at your expense.
