Police charge drunk snowmobiler in Muskoka

A Muskoka man is facing drunk driving charges after hitting the trails near Georgian Bay.

The 43-year-old was stopped while on his snowmobile at a RIDE check on Honey Harbour Road in Georgian Bay Township last week. Officers charged him with offences related to driving while impaired by both drugs and alcohol, driving with an open bottle of liquor and failing to produce a driver’s licence. He’ll appear in court to answer to his charges next week.

Police are reminding riders, even on a snowmobile, you need to carry your driver’s licence, insurance card and ownership at all times.
