Four people charged in Bracebridge for Toronto shooting

Three men and a woman were arrested in Bracebridge following a shooting in Toronto earlier this month.

A joint investigation between the Bracebridge OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit and the Toronto Police Service’s Gun Violence Suppression Unit led to the arrests.

Toronto police were investigating a shooting at a library in Toronto in early February.

As a result of the investigation, the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit executed a warrant at a home on Fraserburg Road in Bracebridge yesterday. Two men from Toronto, and a man and woman from Bracebridge were all placed under arrest.

Police found a 9mm handgun, a .22 calibre handgun and rifle and a 12 gauge shotgun. Cocaine and a large quantity of cash was also seized.

Nathaniel White, age 20, of Toronto, has been charged with four counts of careless storage of a firearm, possession of a loaded and prohibited firearm, two counts of an unauthorized firearm as well as breach of a peace bond. He also faces charges in Toronto related to the February library shooting.

Tony Howell, 25, of Toronto was hit with similar charges and also for possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of cocaine.

Blayne Roper, a 30-year-old from Bracebridge was received multiple weapons charges, cocaine possession and a fail to comply with recognizance for a previous court appearance.

Kaitlyn Brooks, 23, of Bracebridge has been charged with eight weapons-related charges and two counts of Fail to Comply with an undertaking from an unrelated matter.

All four are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge tomorrow.
