District council approves 2019 budget, comes with slight tax increase

A tax increase is officially being locked in for the district portion of your property bill.

The District of Muskoka council approved the budget Tuesday night with a 2.84 per cent increase in taxes. That translates to $13.30 on a $300,000 assessed home.

District officials say a majority of the tax bill is going towards infrastructure, reserves and OPP costs.
