Gas prices on the rise in Ontario tonight; Supreme Court rules girls should be protected from voyeurism
Ontario is likely to see a seven cent hike at the pumps
The time to fill your tank is now.
That’s the message from GasBuddy.com Analyst Dan McTeague, who’s predicting a sudden spike in Ontario’s gas prices.
“It really doesn’t matter where you are across most of Ontario,” says McTeague. “Refiners are passing on a 6.2 cent a litre increase, along with HST at 13 per cent, they work it out and round it off to about 7 cents a litre effective midnight tonight.”
He says for the first time in decades, Ontario was enjoying a brief period of offering the lowest gas prices in Canada.
Ontario man charged with voyeurism, decision solidifies public protection for girls
An Ontario man is guilty of voyeurism after using a pen camera to film students’ chests.
Ryan Jarvis had been acquitted of the charge originally, and in question was whether or not female students had a right to privacy in a public school. The Supreme Court panel of judges unanimously said yes, girls at school deserve to be protected from being secretly filmed.

Environment Canada finally has an app for that. The weather service is officially rolling out WeatherCAN for handheld devices. Meteorologist Ria Alsen says the app alerts you right away to watches and warnings.
“So if a message comes out for your region you’ll hear an audible tone,” says Alsen. “You can go to the app and just check out the details that we’ve issued.”
You can find the app now on the Google Play and Apple stores.
