Huntsville's new mayor says he's excited for the next four years

Scott Aitchison has been elected as Huntsville’s new mayor. Aitchison received 3,708 votes. He says it’s a tremendous result.

Hugh Mackenzie came in second at 2,264 votes. Mackenzie says it was a clear decision.

Tim Withey wasn’t so far behind Mackenzie in the race as 2,198 residents voted for him.
Withey says he’s proud of his campaign efforts.

When asked what he’s looking forward to most in the next four years, Aitchison says he can’t wait to work with the new council.

The new council will be sworn in next month.

Meantime, we have new faces for Huntsville council and some returning ones. For Town and District council, you elected Nancy Alcock, Karin Terziano and Brian Thompson. Bob Stone was elected for Huntsville Ward and Jonathan Wiebe for Chaffey. Det Schumacher and Chris Zanetti were re-elected to represent Stisted, Stephenson and Port Sydney Wards. Lastly, Daniel Armour was elected in Brunel.
