In response to this week’s fatal shootings in Ottawa, the Town of Gravenhurst has lowered flags at the municipal town hall to half-staff. In a statement released from Gravenhurst Mayor Paisley Donaldson yesterday, she says “Gravenhurst, like all communities across Canada is shocked and saddened by the tragic events in Ottawa. On behalf of Council and the citizens of our community, we extend our deepest sympathies to the family of fallen soldier, Cpl.Nathan Cirillo, and to all, who stand for our democratic freedoms every day. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult moment.”
