Corriveau-Truchon acclaimed Catholic school board chair

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board now has its chair and vice-chair.

The announcement was made at its inaugural meeting for the new term on Wednesday. Carol Corriveau-Truchon was acclaimed as Chair and Janice Hutchison was elected as Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Corriveau-Truchon represents Huntsville, Muskoka Lakes, Lake of Bays, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Georgian Bay and Parry Sound.

She was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2010. This will be her third year serving as Chair of the Board. Carol lives in Bracebridge with her husband Gilles. She has four children who all graduated from St. Dominic Catholic Secondary School in Bracebridge.

“I am honoured to serve as Board Chair for another year. I am confident that the work we will do together will ensure that the needs of our students are always the focus of our decisions. I feel grateful to be part of a Board that values faith-filled learning for all of the students entrusted to our care,” said Corriveau-Truchon.
