TLDSB seeking feedback on the proposed 2019-2020 school year calendar

The Trillium Lakelands District School Board wants your thoughts on the calendar for the 2019/2020 school year.

If you are a parent or guardian, or community member in the district they want your thoughts on the calendar. According to the school board, to make first and second semesters the same length and have the January 31st Professional Development fall on a Friday, the board added a one-day board instructional Holiday into semester one.

The school board tells My Muskoka Now.com that feedback of previous years led to them proposing a “fall mini break” by using a PD day on Thursday, November 28th and a one-day board instructional holiday on Friday the 29th to give students a four day weekend.

To give your feedback TLDSB says you can fill out a survey by clicking here.

TLDSB officials say that all school boards across Ontario are required to prepare, adopt, and submit a calendar for elementary and secondary schools to the Ministry of Education.
