Changes Announced for Easier Access to Hunting and Fishing Licenses

Hunters and anglers are getting some good news from the Ontario government.

A new way for people who need to get hunting or fishing licenses has been launched.

“Hunting and fishing are important parts of our culture for many people in Parry Sound-Muskoka,” said Norm Miller, MPP for Parry Sound-Muskoka. “I am pleased our government has recognized that and is acting to make it easier for hunters and anglers to apply for licences.”

Changes include making the website easier to use on your mobile device and having a single Outdoors Card for both hunting and fishing.

It can be accessed online at huntandfishontario.com, at participating ServiceOntario locations or at one of over 700 licence issuers across the province.

“Our government is making life easier and allowing you to get outdoors quicker,” said John Yakabuski, Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry. “We have launched a new licencing service that makes it easier to buy hunting and fishing licenses. It was designed with hunters and anglers in mind.”

The government also announced a commitment to meet with an advisory committee to review moose tag quotas and how hunters apply for tags.
