Two High End Jeeps Stolen from Sundridge Dealership – Recovered in Bracebridge

A pair of high end stolen Jeeps have been recovered following a theft from a Sundridge dealership.

Mark Bennett is the sales manager of Mac Lang Sundridge, a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep dealer. He says two of their vehicles were stolen sometime between 3:00am and 5:00am this morning.

Bennett says it has been a roller coaster day.

“I was pretty surprised at today’s events right from beginning to end,” he says with a chuckle.

Bennett says after calling the police one of the first calls they made was to a company capable of finding the vehicles.

“Once we arrived at work we contacted the company that tracks high-end vehicles,” he confirms. “They helped us find the vehicles.”

Bennett says one was recovered near the McDonald’s on Muskoka Road/118 West.  The other was found near the Bracebridge Memorial Arena.

Thieves had smashed through the glass on the front door of the dealership and broken into a locked key box.

“They grabbed the keys for two Grand Cherokees,” Bennett says. “They were the two most expensive vehicles on our lot.”

He says there is some damage to the Jeeps and that they will likely have to make an insurance claim. New Cherokee Trackhawks fully loaded can retail for $86,000.

“I can’t wait to hear the rest of the story,” says Bennett. “I thought they would be loaded into a transport and taken to some harbour somewhere.”

Bennett adds it is very difficult to do anything with a stolen vehicle in North America as getting a stolen vehicle registered is tough to do.
