Some cases of Enterovirus reported in Simcoe-Muskoka

The Enterovirus is not a reportable disease. That’s according to the Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit. Associate Medical Officer of Health Dr. Colin Lee says they do get some people making a voluntary report, but they don’t get many.

Enterovirus has always been around. Lee says this virus has many subtypes.

Lee says he expects the virus could continue into the winter.  However, there are ways to protect yourself.

There has been a few reports of the virus in Muskoka, but Lee says non have resulted into hospitalizations or death.
