MAHC CEO, Natalie Bubela confirms there are no cases of Ebola at our hospitals

Muskoka Algonquin Health Care CEO, Natalie Bubela says our hospitals have seen no suspected or confirmed cases of the Ebola virus. In a recent letter posted to the MAHC website, Chief of Staff, Dr. Jan Goossens says the overall risk of Ebola in Muskoka remains low. Goossens says hospital staff are taking precautions by identifying symptoms of the Ebola virus including fever, diarrhea, severe headache, muscle pain, weakness, vomiting or abdominal pain. Goossens says if these symptoms appear, patients are asked to put on a mask and sanitize their hands at the entrance before proceeding directly to the Triage Desk for assessment. In Canada, there have been no confirmed cases of the Ebola virus.
