With Christmas parties starting to gear up, the OPP is gearing up too.
Its annual Festive RIDE program kicks off tomorrow night. It runs until January 2nd. Officers will be setting up checkpoints aimed at getting impaired drivers off the road.
With the legalization of recreational weed last month the OPP is reminding people that driving while high counts as impaired as well. If you plan on consuming alcoholic beverages, make arrangements for a designated driver, take a taxi, or stay overnight.
