Trisha Cowie takes another shot at MP with Liberal candidacy run in Parry Sound-Muskoka

Local lawyer Trisha Cowie is throwing her hat in the ring for the Liberals.

Cowie announced her intention to run for candidacy in the Liberal Party of Canada for the Parry Sound-Muskoka riding ahead of the 2019 federal election.

This isn’t Cowie’s first attempt at federal politics, as she ran for MP with the Liberals in 2015. She lost by four per cent to current representative Tony Clement who gained 43 per cent of the vote.

Clement recently became an Independent Member of Parliament. He stepped away from the Conservative Party under pressure from Leader Andrew Scheer over allegations of sexual misconduct.

Canada’s next Federal Election runs on October 21st next year.
