Stolen Muskoka Lakes Tools Recovered in Peterborough

Police in Peterborough have recovered stolen equipment from the Township of Muskoka Lakes.

The theft of the trailer took place in September in Peterborough. Then a residence under construction on Roberts Bay Road in Muskoka Lakes was robbed in October, with thieves getting a selection of power tools and constructions materials.

The Ontario Provincial Police say the Peterborough County Community Street Crime Unit found an enclosed trailer containing the power tools and construction materials.

These were recovered after police executed a search warrant on November 5th in Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township.

A man and a woman in their 50s have been charged with two counts of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The pair are due to face charges next month at court in Peterborough. Police say the investigation into the thefts continues and more charges could be laid.
