Salvation Army Looking for Bell Ringers for Kettle Appeal

If you think you have some holiday rhythm the Salvation Army is looking for you.

Organizers from the Salvation Army Food Bank Bracebridge are looking for people to ring the bells for the annual Christmas Kettle appeal at various area businesses.

Janice Hummel is looking to fill a number of spots through the holiday season.

“All they need to do is stand there and be wonderful with a smile,” Hummel says with a laugh. “And hopefully people will insert some money into the kettle for us.”

She is looking for volunteers in Bracebridge and Gravenhurst.

The Kettle Appeal begins this coming Friday, with shifts taking place Fridays and Saturdays between the hours of 10:00am and 6:00pm. You can work as many or as few hours as you would like, and the big bonus is you will not be working outdoors.

“All the stores are very happy to support us and they’ve all said we can stand inside,” she says.

If you would like to volunteer you can call Janice at 705-644-0297 (daytime to early evening hours please) or you can contact the Salvation Army Foodbank through its website.
