Alleged kidnapper in Huntsville court this morning

John Merkel is back in Huntsville court today to answer to kidnapping charges. The 27-year-old was arrested in August after kidnapping someone for a day. Over the course of that day, Merkel allegedly assaulted the victim and forced him to take out money from his account at a local back. Few details can be released, including the two other people arrested in the case because of a publication ban. Merkel has also been charged with assault, breach of probation and possession of a controlled substance.
