Muskoka Lakes Township is looking for new ideas to bring tourist traffic to the area.
The township is offering new Event and Festival grants as part of its Grants to Organizations Program. Economic Development Specialist Corey Moore says the new grants come as a response to the Downtown Enhancement Project, which looks to make Port Carling and Bala hotspots for tourists year round.
“The number one response we received to drive more traffic into the urban core was to have more events,” says Moore. “We are looking for grant applications from organizers who are planning to enhance a current event or create a new event.”
