A blustery day expected for Muskoka

Pull on your windbreakers because it could get very gusty in Muskoka this afternoon.

Environment Canada suggests wind speeds could get up to 80 km/h in some parts of the district this afternoon. The strong wind is expected to ease up by tonight.

The weather service is warning residents to be wary of flying debris as the strong winds can easily toss loose objects into the air. Downed power lines should also be a concern for locals. If you come across a downed wire, don’t approach it as it may still be live and very dangerous.

The MyMuskokaNow newsroom will keep you updated on the windy weather and any power outages caused by the gusts across the district.
