Parents Can Get Text Notifications from the School

The Trillium Lakelands District School Board is making it easier to keep parents informed.

The school board announced yesterday that parents and guardians can opt-in to a texting service that sends you info on school news, events, emergencies, and news from the school board.

SchoolMessenger is a service that recently took over the service SchoolConnects, meaning parents that were registered with that service will need to opt back in to get those notifications from the new service.

To Opt-in to the service, all it takes is to get your cell phone number on record at the school your children are attending. Once they have the cell number on record, the parent or guardian should get a text asking if you wish to opt-in to the services. The text asking you to opt-in should arrive by Monday of next week.

All texts from the school board will come from 978338
