Hockey season is back in Huntsville

The Huntsville Otters Junior Hockey team are set to start the 2018/19 season with a home opener Friday night at the Canada Summit Centre.

Business manager for the team Steve Garner says there is plenty to be excited about with this edition of the team.

“There is a lot of skill there,” Garner told the My Muskoka Now Newsroom. “We were pleasantly surprised. We have got a big blue line as well… we’re fast up front and we can hardly wait.”

The franchise has gone back to an earlier puck drop to make attendance this season a bit more family friendly.

“We’ve moved from the 8:00 p.m. puck drop to 7:30,” Garner revealed. “I think it will mend well with families who want to come see hockey.”

The Otters open their 42 game season hosting the Penetang Kings.
