New MMIWG liaison service provides more answers to affected families

Ontario is offering more help for families of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

Through the Ministry of the Attorney General’s Indigenous Justice Division, the Family Information Liaison Unit will act as an information source on criminal investigations, court details or any other information related to these types of crimes. All details would be given to families confidentially.

A representative of the unit will be offering more details on this service at the Parry Sound Friendship Centre next week. If you’re interested in attending, the meeting starts at 10:30 next Wednesday. If you have any questions about the meeting you can contact Health Outreach Coordinator Doris Potts-Zyganiuk at 705-774-5734.
