MNRF warns of fast-flowing water this weekend in Muskoka

The MNRF is warning boaters and swimmers to be cautious this weekend in Muskoka.

The Parry Sound District office of the ministry says the continued rainfall in the last few weeks has pushed water levels higher than usual. That means rivers may be flowing much faster, causing dangerous currents. Swimmers should avoid large rivers and pet owners are advised to keep your animals on shore.

Flooding isn’t expected but could become an issue in low-lying areas around the region.
